A growing company runs into legal questions every week. A new customer sends its own contract, an employee leaves, invoices remain unpaid and a shareholder resolution needs to go into the Slovak Commercial Register. Directors of limited companies (s.r.o.) and entrepreneurs come to us when they no longer want to weigh up whether each question justifies calling a lawyer, and would rather have a law firm that already knows their business.
We begin with an initial legal audit in the first month: we review contracts, corporate documents, employment paperwork and basic obligations such as GDPR or registration in the Slovak Register of Public Sector Partners. You receive an overview of risks and the order in which to tackle them. After that you deal with day-to-day matters directly with a lawyer by email, phone or video call, and you always know how many hours you have used. Court proceedings are priced separately.
The retainer suits limited companies, sole traders and small and medium-sized firms, including foreign-owned ones, that sign contracts, employ staff or have customers on longer payment terms. Our office is at Národná 15 in Žilina, but we serve retainer clients across Slovakia, mostly remotely and in Slovak, Czech or English. If you only need one thing sorted now and then, we will suggest a one-off consultation or service instead.
All we need is your company ID number, contact details and a few lines on what the business deals with. After a short call we send a proposed scope with a specific price.
In the first month we review contracts, corporate and employment documents and compliance. You receive a summary of findings and a recommendation on what to tackle first.
You deal directly with a lawyer who knows your company. The response time is agreed in the contract and is usually within 24 hours on working days for routine matters.
Each month you see how many hours you have used and on what. Unused hours roll over to the next month, and extra work is billed at a reduced hourly rate.
The retainer starts at €500 a month excluding VAT, with no minimum term; you can give notice to the end of any calendar month. The price depends on the number of prepaid hours, the response time and the range of work.
Lawyers are bound by professional secrecy under Section 23 of Slovak Act No 586/2003 on the Legal Profession. They carry statutory insurance against damage caused in practice (Section 27 of the same Act).
Forming a company and changes that since 17 August 2026 require documents authorised by a lawyer (Act No 29/2026) need one visit to our Žilina office with two identity documents. Everything else we prepare remotely.
