Deregistration from RPVS

Deregistration from RPVS in practice

When the last contract with the state ends and no new one is planned, a company can ask to be removed from the Slovak Register of Public Sector Partners. Removal can also happen without your choice: when the annual verification is not filed, when no replacement is found within 30 days for an authorised person whose role has ended, or following a decision in penalty proceedings. Each route has its own procedure and consequences.

For a voluntary removal we first check that no further public payments are due to you, then file the application with the Žilina District Court. If the register removed you on its own, we prepare a fresh registration with a new identification of beneficial owners. In penalty proceedings we represent you, including an appeal against the court's decision.

What we help with

  • We check that you have no remaining public payments.
  • We file the application for voluntary removal.
  • We align RPVS removal with a liquidation or merger.
  • After automatic removal we prepare a new registration.
  • We represent you in penalty proceedings and on appeal.

Worth knowing

Three types of removal

Voluntary, at the partner's request; automatic, when verification is not filed or no new authorised person is appointed within 30 days; and as a penalty, by decision in proceedings under Section 13 of Act No. 315/2016.

Returning means registering again

The original entry is not restored. You need a new agreement with an authorised person, a new identification of beneficial owners and a new verification document; the old one cannot be reused.

Removal as a penalty

A penalty removal under Section 13 of Act No. 315/2016 comes with a fine of up to €1,000,000 and the statutory officer may be barred from office for 3 years. The record stays in the archive part of the register.

Common questions

  • Yes. An appeal against the Žilina District Court's decision on removal and the fine can be lodged within the statutory time limit.
  • Voluntary removal is usually handled alongside the liquidation. Once the company ceases to exist, RPVS removal formally closes the matter.
  • The partner can no longer conclude contracts with the public sector. For a doctor or pharmacy this can interrupt contracts with health insurers, and a supplier on a public contract risks termination.
