B. Legal consultation terms
1. Parties
The provider is the law firm named in section A. The client is any individual or legal entity who books a consultation using the form on the Consultation page.
2. Subject matter
The subject is a one-off legal consultation lasting at least 30 minutes, given by a lawyer working at the firm.
The consultation includes assessing your situation based on the information you provide, identifying the key legal questions, suggesting the next steps and giving you an idea of the expected costs of legal representation.
Format of your choice: in person at our office (Národná 15, Žilina), by video call (Google Meet, Zoom or another agreed platform) or by phone.
The consultation does not create an ongoing relationship of legal representation. Any further legal services will be covered by a separate contract.
3. Booking and appointment
In the form you enter your preferred date and time. This is indicative and the firm may not be able to match it exactly.
The firm will contact you within 48 hours on working days to agree the exact appointment.
If you need to reschedule, let the firm know at least 24 hours in advance.
4. Price
A one-off 30-minute consultation costs EUR 90 including VAT. The price is the same for in-person, phone and online consultations.
The firm will issue a tax invoice and send it to you by email.
The price does not include further legal representation, preparing documents, court filings or any other work beyond the consultation.
5. Obligations of the client and the firm
The client will give the lawyer true and complete information to the extent needed for the consultation and will be available at the agreed time.
The firm will provide the consultation with professional care under the Legal Profession Act. The lawyer is bound by professional confidentiality under Section 23 of the Legal Profession Act.
6. Withdrawal and cancellation
A consumer client may withdraw from the contract without giving a reason within 14 days of concluding it, provided the consultation has not yet taken place. Send your withdrawal by email to kancelaria@aksamec.sk. The firm will refund the full price within 14 days of receiving it.
If the client expressly asked for the consultation to take place before the withdrawal period ended and it did take place, the right of withdrawal lapses (Section 19(1) of Act No. 108/2024 Coll. on Consumer Protection).
If the client does not attend the agreed consultation and does not reschedule at least 24 hours in advance, the consultation is treated as provided and the price is not refunded.
If the firm cannot hold the consultation at the agreed time for objective reasons, it will offer another appointment. If the client does not accept it, the full price is refunded.
7. Liability
The consultation is based on the information the client provides. The lawyer is not responsible for its completeness or accuracy.
The outcome of a consultation is informative and advisory and is not a binding legal opinion. A binding assessment usually requires a more detailed review of the matter as part of legal representation.
The firm is liable for damage caused in providing the consultation to the extent set by the Legal Profession Act.
8. Dispute resolution
A consumer client may ask the firm for redress if they are not satisfied with how a complaint was handled or believe their rights were breached.
If the firm rejects the request or does not reply within 30 days, the client may propose alternative dispute resolution under Act No. 391/2015 Coll. The competent body is the Slovak Trade Inspection, Bajkalská 21/A, 827 99 Bratislava, or another body listed by the Slovak Ministry of Economy. For cross-border disputes, the European Consumer Centre in Slovakia can also help.
9. Personal data
We process the personal data from your booking to perform the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Details are on the Privacy policy page.
C. Website terms of use
Articles, Q&A answers, templates and other website content are for information only. They are not legal advice or a binding legal opinion, and reading them does not create a lawyer and client relationship.
You may use the document templates as a starting point for your own documents. A lawyer can prepare a document tailored to your specific situation.
Sending the contact form or a consultation booking does not create a relationship of legal representation. That only arises under a separate contract for legal services.
How we process personal data is explained on the Privacy policy page. The use of cookies is explained on the Cookies page.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic. Matters they do not cover are governed in particular by the Civil Code, Act No. 108/2024 Coll. on Consumer Protection and the Legal Profession Act. The firm may change these terms; changes take effect when published on the website. The terms in force when the booking was sent apply to the client.
