A civic association with a large grant from its region, a sports club funded by the Slovak Sports Support Fund, or a non-profit with a contract for public benefit services: the third sector must also register in RPVS once public payments exceed the statutory threshold. The difference is that a non-profit has no shareholders whose holdings can simply be listed.
We therefore look for beneficial owners in the statutes and founding documents: among members of the executive body, founders, board of trustees members or the fund administrator. A large executive committee can mean more than ten people. Officers change after elections, so after registration we also keep track of the deadlines for getting those changes into the register.
For a civic association, usually the executive body members; for a non-profit organisation (n.o.), founders and the board of trustees; for a foundation, founders and its board; for a non-investment fund, the founders and administrator.
The duty arises for a one-off payment above €100,000 or recurring payments above €250,000 in total over the contract, exactly as for companies.
After a new committee or board is elected, the change must be registered within 60 days.
